Notes on Segregation
Over the next several days in class, we will be working on videos on life in the South after Reconstruction using YouTube editor (www.youtube.com/editor) . This will be three grades; one for the check sheet (classwork), one for the storyboard (quiz grade), and one for the final product (test grade). You are focusing on conditions in the South prior to 1941 (Pre World War Two). YOU WILL NOT GET CREDIT IF IT IS ON THE CIVIL RIGHTS MOVEMENT. We’ll get there, we just need to build the base here first.
Download all images, sound bites, and videos that you want to use into your Google Drive folder marked Jim Crow Video. That way you have it all in one place and it makes your editing easier. Do NOT start editing your video together until you have all the pieces in the folder. Once you start you can’t save. This is what the storyboard paper is for. It allows you to plan out your video before you start piecing it together.
Your final product will need to be between two and a half and four and a half minutes long and meet all of the requirements listed below.
Examples: Epic Rap Battle of History, Stories/Voices from the Jim Crow South, Types and Examples of Segregation, Hispanics and Jim Crow, Early Civil RIghts Leaders, HBCUs and their history
